Waveguide (WAVEGUIDE), a structure used to directionally guide electromagnetic waves.

Waveguide components are the basic functional components of microwave circuits made of hollow metal waveguides or cavities. Waveguide components can form a variety of waveguide networks or connected into a variety of microwave circuits, its role and low frequency resistance, inductance, capacitance and resonant circuit is very similar, but mostly distributed parameter components. Usually, the waveguide only plays the role of transmitting microwave signal or power, while the waveguide element can control the transmitted microwave signal or power and complete various functions such as wave type transformation, impedance allocation, frequency separation or power distribution.

Tungsten and molybdenum materials can be used to make waveguide components under certain special conditions.
